The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Innovation Manager–Project Management Office (Innovation Manager) leads the organization’s innovation team and oversees a portfolio of innovation and lean projects. The Innovation Manager promotes the use of lean and innovation principles and tools to foster innovation, identify and implement process improvements, solve problems, and implement efficiencies across the organization.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Oversee a portfolio of business unit and enterprise-wide lean and innovation projects.
- Lead the innovation team and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and efficiencies throughout the organization.
- Work with stakeholders to define complex business problems and structure those problems into project frameworks for analysis and solution.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams to implement innovative recommendations and achieve efficiency gains.
- Monitor and manage resources and ensure appropriate workload allocation. Track expenditures against progress towards goals.
- Ensure processes, tools, and templates are appropriately utilized and updated to meet organization and industry best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators, perform data analyses, and report project status and success metrics to leadership. Continually work to improve data analysis processes, tools, and procedures.
- Manage the innovation team and provide coaching, and development of team members, helping them to achieve peak productivity and performance, and continuous improvement.
- Work with PMO Director to advance the culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization using innovation and lean principles.
- Formulate annual initiatives and participate in developing the annual PMO budget.
- Educate team and others within the organization on lean and innovation principles, processes, and tools.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Five years of experience leading innovation or process improvement projects.
- Three years of experience managing people and/or project teams.
- Three years of experience facilitating collaborative cross-functional workgroups and workshops.
- Two years of experience preparing status reports and delivering management briefings.
Preferences
- Two years of experience managing vendor performance.
Certifications & Licensure
- Lean Six Sigma Green belt
