The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Digital Curator Specialist supports the development and implementation of a digital asset management solution for WWP by collecting and organizing WWP’s digital assets, and making them available and accessible to the organization.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Upload, tag, and archive documents, projects, videos, images, and any other digital assets.
  • Provide expertise to teammates on issues related to archival descriptive standards, intellectual property rights, digital conversion of archival material, tagging conventions, and metadata creation.
  • Serve as daily digital asset resource for various departments, teams, and projects.
  • Ensure assets have corresponding licenses, right-to-use waivers, and other legal documentation that will be digitally stored, organized, and kept up-to-date.
  • Oversee the adoption, implementation, and review of new technologies and methods to ensure quality of cataloging, metadata, and access to Digital Access Management (DAM) solution services.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide enhancements to digital library processes to ensure effective and efficient delivery of library digital assets and services.
  • Perform original cataloging.
  • Keep current with trends in web and DAM solution technologies.
  • Collaborate with teams and anticipate photo and footage needs for upcoming projects.
  • Organize and distribute links to teammates hosting events so they can upload digital assets to the DAM on a daily basis.
  • Aid in production of marketing assets by locating appropriate photos and footage. Archive all photos and footage for future use.
  • Contribute designs and ideas for digital asset creation projects.
  • Shoot broadcast quality video, record broadcast quality audio and shoot professional level still photography.
  • Edit video, audio and still photography.
  • Work with and create graphics and various other design elements.
  • Help with all elements of producing videos including participation in pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Oversee and manage production equipment needs and usage by PR teammates.
  • Ensure assets follow established quality standards.
  • Assist with continued development and support of overall WWP brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant media-related field. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certification may be considered in lieu of degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated working understanding of Digital Access Management (DAM) solution services and processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of past and present media storage solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise using computers and media-related software especially Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Demonstrated ability to use different modules of integrated library systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office programs. Proficient using MAC and Windows.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with capturing video, audio and still photography.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic lighting design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary technology and equipment related to asset production.
  • Working knowledge of social media platform requirements.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills. Effectively completes assignments and meets deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal teammates and outside resources to resolve issues.
  • Diligent, able to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and prioritize
  • High energy level. Self-starter; willing to take initiative and work independently to accomplish tasks and assignments.

  • Three years of experience in digital media, multimedia, social media, or video production.
  • Three years of experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro, AVID or similar software.

Preferences

  • Five years of experience creating media content, and in video production, photography, graphic design, or web design.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) preferred. 
  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) preferred.
