The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Application Administrator is a key member of the IT team responsible for day-to-day administration and support of end user software applications, processes and interfaces. This job calls for both technical capability and business understanding.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Install and configure software, upgrades, patches and version releases.
- Perform trouble-shooting, root cause analysis in order to resolve software issues and minimize downtime to end users of supported applications.
- Monitor support tickets, troubleshoot and resolve cases in a timely manner according to SLA.
- Provide acknowledgement, updates and resolution to end users application support requests
- Liaise with the IT operations area to facilitate resolution between software applications and any hardware, network or security dependency.
- Collaborate with system administrators to manage the integrity and safety of organization data through backups and archiving principles.
- Manage/Maintain the security provisioning of the various software applications, including new user setup access, maintaining ongoing password resets and terminations.
- Facilitate the audit of user access to applications on an established frequency.
- Create and maintain custom reports as requested from the business units, utilizing report writer tools.
- Use analytical skills to troubleshoot, identify & resolve data quality and reporting issues
- Liaison with application vendors through project lifecycle including support.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimizing peak performance and utilization of supported applications.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining systems documentation as required.
- Keep up to date and informed of technology trends around administered applications.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience required
Skills/Experience:
- Technical knowledge of databases, report writing tools, data analytics, technical writing
- Working knowledge of Windows operating system and standard Windows applications
- Proficiency in any of the following applications or tools – Dynamics GP, Workday, SAS Financial Management, Jira, Confluence, SQL Server
- Deep knowledge of applications design, configuration, and administration practices to maximize availability and reliability
- Deep knowledge of applications security monitoring and controls
- Understanding of standard application architecture, IT literacy around applications and systems
- Ability to apply investigative and diagnostic skills in resolving application support issues
- Ability to work effectively on cross-functional project teams
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Strong customer service orientation and awareness required
- Strong communication and active listening skills required
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in administration or support of software applications required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience creating and maintaining documentation of applications specification and operation required
- Experience creating and maintaining software integrations and interfaces preferred
- Experience managing external vendors relationships preferred - Vendor management experience preferred
