The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Applications Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering organization-wide training programs for IT solutions. The Application Trainer designs, develops, and delivers training for IT Applications (administration, fundraising, and programs) and IT Operations (operations, security, and help desk) solutions.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Work closely with the Senior Applications Trainer to contribute to the learning and development strategy to train users at all levels of the organization in usage and best practices of IT tools
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate (eg. Salesforce CRM, Cvent Event Management, Workday, SAS, etc.) training programs including on-line courses, self-study, and blended learning opportunities
- Identify, design, develop, and deliver new product and features training (classroom, online, computer-based, multimedia, simulators, workshops) to employees for applications and projects as assigned
- Create instructor materials (course outline, background materials, instructional materials, and training aids).
- Create and maintain library of training documentation and guides
- Establish course objectives, program presentations, and participant manuals for projects and applications as assigned
- Ensure quality and consistency of course content by analyzing training effectiveness and metrics, and suggesting improvements as necessary
- Collaborate with teammates to provide product related demonstrations to stakeholders
- Provide recommendations on best practices and communication methods
- Collaborate with teammates to coordinate training delivery
- Review IT project timelines and assess timeliness of releases
- Create project communication plans with stakeholders and project leads
- Draft communications, in cooperation with marketing
- Other related duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree required, in Training & Development or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Skills/Experience:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to develop and deliver comprehensive, professional training materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient in internet navigation/research
- Experience in training and development software (e.g. Articulate, Captivate, etc.)
- Must possess a creative, insightful, and innovative approach to learning – with a focus on fun, service, and practical application. Well-developed sense of aesthetic and product delivery
- Strong consultative skills with the ability to influence others; providing thought leadership in learning and development strategies and solutions

Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of Training and Development experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum two (2) year's experience in adult learning or training, preferably in corporate/technical training required
- Minimum one (1) year's experience producing documentation related to analyses, job aids, and training materials required
Certifications & Licensure
- Certified Professional in Learning/Training Development Certification preferred
