Serving over 241,000 members, volunteers and program participants, through 19 branches and 2 camps, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is one of the premier associations in the country. The Dallas Y has a legacy of outstanding YMCA staff that set the national benchmarks in program innovation, fundraising and leadership development.

We are seeking a cause-driven leader that, as the Executive Director, will build upon the many successes of the Irving Family YMCA, its 1300+units and $1M in budget. The Irving YMCA has a history of strong community engagement, collaboration, and philanthropy. For over 55 years, our Irving YMCA has serviced over 228,000 people directly west of Dallas and is a trusted community partner. Possible relocation of the facilities has been discussed for future within the Irving area.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the branch while developing board/volunteer relations.
  • Develop new and innovative high-quality programs while maintaining and growing existing programs.
  • Provide association with continued financial growth.
  • Build/maintain relationships within the community to include schools, churches, homeowner’s associations, civic organizations, etc.
  • Accountable for the growth and development of existing branch staff; recruit and develop all new hires.
    • Current full-time staff include Membership/Wellness Director, Sports Director, and Youth Development Director
    • Part-time indirect supervision of 50-60 staff
  • Responsible for managing and developing an annual budget and achieving branch operating goals.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the facility including cleanliness and safety.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Annual Campaign of$88,000
  • Accountable for membership growth and retention.
Educational Background: 
Must have a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university or related years of successful YMCA experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5–7 years of management experience and an understanding of the mission and philosophy of the YMCA
  • YMCA Organizational Leader certification is a plus.
  • Requires a proven track record in applying best practices related to relationship management and community engagement.
  • Proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management
  • Fundraising experience in annual campaign and grants.
  • Strong operational skills and experience.
  • Must have demonstrated success in staff supervision, teamwork, coaching and leading others.
  • Understanding of quality customer service, strategic thinking, influencing skills, developing and implementing innovative concepts and responding to critical community issues.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
