Faith in Indiana seeks a financial management specialist to keep our organization running smoothly as we conduct an executive search for a permanent Operations Director. This is a 4-month part-time temporary position Jan 17th - April 29th, 2022 for 20 hours per week.
This position will work out of our Indianapolis office. We will also consider working remotely or contract consultants.
In this role, you will:
- Provide administration of financial services to programs including but not limited to; semi-monthly processing of payroll and benefits, ensure all bills are paid on-time and submit report of expenses/income to accountant for processing.
- Manage the annual audit process, ensuring a clean and seamless review of 2021 financials
- Ensure all government compliance requirements are met in accordance with deadlines
- Event logistics support including travel arrangements, coordinate light logistics for Faith in Indiana meetings, and events
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate office supplies
You could be great for this role if:
- Done accounting, financial management, payroll, HR work for an organization similar or slightly larger in scope than Faith/Act Indiana.
- Assisted or led the preparation of annual audit for a non-profit, such as compiled revenue information, prepared trial balance, assisted with 990, etc.
- Worked with complex accounting matters or business formations before, such as 501(c)4s, PACs, political committees/funds, etc. or demonstrated an ability to competently research how to handle accounting practices related to these entities.
- You are disciplined at keeping well-maintained records of grants, contracts, payments, statements, etc. for future reference and reporting.
- You should be a champion for workplace integrity and good at:
- Following internal controls and providing input on improvements to increase organizational efficiency and protection against fraud, mismanagement, and theft.
- Working with confidential information such as employees’ personal details and banking information in ways to mitigate any accidental sharing or breach of data.
- You should work well with others and be good at:
- Being approachable and a good team member with others, such as development and program staff, who may have different approaches to financial matters.
- Understanding the importance of inclusion and equity in the workplace.
