Responsible for all facets of programming for children and families.
Under the direction of the Youth & Family Life Director and Sr. Sports Director, the Associate Program Director will be responsible for all facets of programming for children and families. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of Child Watch, Preschool, Family events/programs and Group Rentals.
Additionally, this position is responsible for program development and promotion, implementation and evaluation, staff scheduling and supervision, and financial operation in accordance with Center and Association goals, objectives and policies.
This position requires a BA/BS degree in early childhood, child development, recreation, elementary education or a related field or its equivalent in professional experience (2-3 years related experience required). Proven staff management experience is a must. A high degree of organizational and supervisory skills are required. Applicant must have basic programming skills with special emphasis on early childhood and youth activities. Additional skills in program development and implementation, league operation, fiscal control and written communications are necessary. The ability to relate to all age groups is essential. Strong skills are necessary in supervision, management, income production, expense control, public relations, promotion, and communication skills. Strong skills in human relations are essential and must be able to interpret program objectives to members and participants, and to provide communications within and between the community and other organizations.
