Direct all aspects of membership for the branch, including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and supervision of assigned staff. Develop, plan and implement new procedures and methods to achieve membership goals. This dynamic individual will support the continued growth of this diverse YMCA branch which currently serves 3,500 units and 10,000 members.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Promotes program and membership engagement. Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with the marketing department to maximize communication with YMCA membership.
- Ensures a high level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty among those we serve.
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
- Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and communicates changes to staff in a clear, concise way. Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances
- Leads membership staff and volunteers effectively; recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams; onboards and develops them for success.
- Creates, analyzes, distributes and maintains membership related statistics, sales and retention reports.
- Ensures membership staff has access to all necessary information to answer member inquiries, including, but not limited to; weekly branch updates, facility schedules, program information.
- Ensures that the welcome desk staff are adequately trained to engage program participants, guests and/or visitors.
- Serves as a member of the Associations Membership and Marketing Cabinet.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree; or a minimum of five years of relevant membership sales and service experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Understanding of, and ability to use/learn computer based software systems. Experience with Daxko Operations preferred.
- Proficient in word processing, data entry, record keeping, and basic mathematics.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- 2+ year experience supervising others.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00
