Director of Human Resources & Talent Management serves as a member of the President/CEO's senior leadership team, providing strategic leadership to attract, develop and retain the best talent available and to position the YMCA as an "employer of choice." The Director of HR & Talent Management oversees the development and implementation of human resource policies, plans and services including recruitment, selection, legal compliance, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, employment practices and procedures as well as employee communications and events.
Areas of Responsibility:
- The Heart of the Valley YMCA Human Resources Director is responsible for:
- Communicating, Cultivating, Educating and Implementing the mission, goals, and values of the YMCA within the community.
- Providing leadership and consulting support to executives and management on all HR matters.
- Developing and overseeing talent management, including training, staff training and leadership development, retention, recognition, employee communication and career development.
- Developing and maintaining performance management and appraisal programs.
- Overseeing compensation programs, including job description and classification, salary structure and salary adjustments.
- Overseeing the benefit plans, communication, enrollment and administration. Assess the competitiveness of human resources programs and practices against the relevant markets and making recommendations for improvements and changes.
- Administering COBRA/FMLA/LOA
- Remaining current with employment laws and regulations related to human resources and manages relationships with compliance agencies and YMCA legal counsel.
- Overseeing HR systems and employee records to ensure accuracy and improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Ensuring timely and accurate submission of data requested by the EEOC, YMCA of the USA, DOL, etc.
- Working with assigned committees of the Board to build our volunteer relationships, develop policies, and oversee policy implementation.
- Developing staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs. Identifying and cultivating appropriate and effective sources for candidates for all levels of jobs.
- Processing semi-monthly payroll for organization.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in business, human resources of equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Eight (8) or more years of professional experience in all aspects of human resource management and staff development.
- Knowledge and professional experience in planning and policy, talent management, selection, compensation, benefits, training and staff development, employee relations, and performance management.
- Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
- Proficient in business and human resources related computer applications, which may include talent management systems, time and attendance systems (Paycom), etc.
- Senior human resources certification preferred (SPHR or equivalent); YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00
