Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA after school programs for assigned group of sites with a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  This position will be located in Katy, TX.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages, directs and coordinates the school age enrichment programs for assigned sites. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Partners with Center Executive at assigned centers to design programs that meet the needs of each individual community.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff as needed.Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
  • Maintains proper records/department files.
  • Organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program. Identify opportunities for program and curriculum enhancements and areas of potential growth in the program.
  • Secures annual and/or multiyear service agreements with assigned ISD’s.
  • Creates and executes partner appreciation opportunities to deepen the relationships with ISD’s and other partners.
  • Conduct annual program analysis on assigned sites to include pricing structure, growth opportunities, funding opportunities and other needs.
  • Provide leadership to assigned YMCA After School sites to include hiring, onboarding and development of staff, implementation of curriculum, management of budget, management of ISD relationships and growth of programs.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of academic achievement to include implementation of YPQ, curriculum and collaborations such as A’STEAM.
  • Provide summer leadership to after school programs to include securing new sites, attending ISD meetings, completing site inventories, executing summer marketing, preparing compliance items for all sites to include binders, parent boards, staff files, youth files, first aid kits, etc. and ordering all supplies and shirts for the following year. 
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five to seven years related experience preferred, as a director of child care programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Work, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings required upon hire.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, time management and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and member service skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards (if any) and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00
