The D. Bradley McWilliams YMCA at Cypress Creek is seeking a dynamic, cause-driven leader to oversee our Membership Department. The McWilliams YMCA was devastated by Hurricane Harvey but is reopening this month. The facility will include a large wellness area, functional fitness space, dedicated cycle studio, mind/body studio, group exercise rooms, 2 pools, large child-watch program area, child care building and many acres of fields, trails, ropes courses and an outdoor pavilion. During our peak times of the year we have over 5,500 membership units which equates to over 16,000 members with opportunity for growth with the new facility and upgraded fitness options.
This position is responsible for a $250,000 revenue budget serving 2,000 participants annually and supervises a staff team of 10.
Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA youth sports programs with an emphasis on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
- Promotes and incorporates the YMCA five core values in to program activities.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands youth sports program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Secures and schedules athletic fields and facilities. Coordinates with photography vendor. Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment, uniforms and awards as budget permits.
- Creates teams from paid and financially assisted registrations. Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings, and training and meetings for coaches.
- Recruits, trains and develops sports program staff.
- Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules; trains and schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
- Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Monitors and evaluates quality of the sports program.
- Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans for youth sports program with the support of Association and Center Marketing teams.
- Assist in YMCA special events and fund raising activities.

- One to two years related experience operating a sports program with multiple locations.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
- Desire to work with children and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
