Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA youth programs with an emphasis on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position will oversee all Youth Sports for the Trotter Family YMCA as well as the Brenda and John Duncan Family YMCA. The Trotter Family YMCA Youth Sports program currently serves 1600 participants throughout the year in leagues, camps and clinics, has 10 part time staff and $288,000 budget. The Brenda and John Duncan Family YMCA program currently serves 700 participants throughout the year in leagues, camps and clinics, has 1 full time Program Manager and 5 part time staff and $83,000 budget.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands youth sports program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Secures and schedules athletic fields and facilities. Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as budget permits.
- Creates teams from paid and financially assisted registrations. Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings, and training and meetings for coaches.
- Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules; trains and schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
- Purchases and distributes team uniforms and awards; coordinates and distributes team photographs.
- Organizes and hosts season parties and events.
- Organizes and conducts sports camps and clinics.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth sports program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assists with Program Committee meetings.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.

- One to two years related experience operating a sports program with multiple locations.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
- Desire to work with children and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Salary: $52,000.00 - $59,000.00
