The Director of Youth Sports develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA youth programs with an emphasis on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position will oversee all Youth Sports for the Katy YMCAs; Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch and Mark A. Chapman YMCA at Katy Main Street. - Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands youth sports program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Participates in the development of fiscal budget and conducts the monthly forecast process in accordance to YMCA practices.
- Secures and schedules athletic fields and facilities. Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as budget permits.
- Recruits and trains volunteer sport specific coaches. Continues coach education and development throughout each season to ensure participant success.
- Creates teams from paid and financially assisted registrations. Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings, and training and meetings for coaches.
- Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules utilizing the YMCA’s chosen systems; trains and schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
- Purchases and distributes team uniforms and awards; coordinates and distributes team photographs.
- Organizes and hosts season parties and events.
- Organizes and conducts sports clinics.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth sports program information to Members and Program Participants.
- Organize and schedule program registrations in partnership with Member Services. May review and process program scholarship applications at the time of registration.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely and solution oriented manner.
- Attends and participates in Program Committee meetings at the Association and disseminates information to Staff.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.

- One to two years related experience operating a sports program with multiple locations.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
- Desire to work with children and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Prior to first scheduled shift:
- Online training for Child Abuse Prevention, Work Place Harassment & Bullying, Universal Precautions, Information Security and Awareness.
- Within first 30 days of employment:
- ASHI trainings for CPR-Pro, AED, Oxygen and First Aid
Salary: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00
