Provides leadership in marketing, communications, branding, strategic planning and developing innovative strategies to drive engagement and position the YMCA as a “charity of choice" throughout the Greater Houston area.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops and implements annual marketing plans designed to promote engagement in YMCA initiatives through membership, programs and financial development.
- Supervises a team of Marketing Directors and Managers.
- Responsible for elevating and aligning Cause-driven messaging into year-round marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate efforts with Association Advancement Team to create and implement annual development marketing/communication plans, to ensure members, donors and the community understand and support the mission of the Y.
- Provides support in prioritizing marketing initiatives and triaging requests from internal partners and clients.
- Develop communications strategies designed to inform and engage center volunteers with Association-wide, Cause-drive initiatives.
- Manages multiple projects to promote programs and events that support Social Responsibility initiatives.
- Provides support for Association and center-focused events.
- Assists with developing organizational digital marketing and social media strategies.
- Conduct trainings in marketing and communications. Educates, motivates and provides feedback to individuals related to best practices.
- Acts a liaison for the marketing team in support of various national and local sponsorship opportunities and agreements.
- Compiles and assesses ROI and results for marketing efforts and communicates results to the appropriate groups; uses data strategically to refine future marketing efforts.
- Acts as a brand ambassador to protect the YMCA image and reputation, and to ensure the Y brand is consistently applied in every marketing and communications tactic.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Eight or more years of progressive professional experience with a background in marketing other related field; supervisory experience required.
- Experience with formal marketing planning; demonstrated understanding of the value of marketing analytics and their role in developing strategy.
- Experience engaging with customers across multiple channels; demonstrated best-in-class use of both traditional and new media, including a use of emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated creativity and the ability to conceptualize and design marketing/communications materials in print, electronic, and online media environments.
- Experience managing print production and overseeing direct mail projects
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong team player; comfortable working cross function
- Ability to think conceptually with strong analytical skills and comfort handling multiple demands to achieve organizational objectives.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00
