The Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch is seeking a dynamic, innovative, highly motivated individual to oversee the Membership department.  Our YMCA serves Katy and the surrounding communities by creating a welcoming environment for all who visit our facility.  We welcome 6438 membership units or approximately 17,884 members in our facility throughout each year.  We are seeking a transformational, servant leader to take our Membership experience to the next level.

Major responsibilities include leadership of the Childwatch and Member services and the supporting staff of over 70 Staff Members. The ideal candidate will be service oriented with sales and marketing knowledge. He/She must possess the ability to bring the Membership and Childwatch departments together to engage new members, better serve existing members, and increase member retention.  This person will lead the operational processes that support new Member onboarding and existing Member retention using Daxko Operations and Engage.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs member services and child watch personnel.
  • Works with Membership Specialist to ensure center meets or exceeds membership and corporate membership sales goals.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
  • Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Track staff time according to budget and utilize/approve Kronos in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure staff carry proper/current certifications and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Respond to members concerns in a timely manner as appropriate through Daxko Engage, comment cards and member interaction.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating goals.
  • Identify and implement new industry trends.
  • Develop, monitor and achieve budget goals.
  • Responsible for the successful attainment of department targets, including revenue and member retention.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
  • Monitor daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  • Assist in marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Assist with Board and Committee meetings.
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three to Five years related experience in Member Services and Health and Wellness management which includes program development, member retention and staff development. 
  • Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
  • Requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $59,000.00 - $65,000.00
