The YMCA of Greater of Houston is currently seeking an experienced Director of Gift and Database Managment for the Association Office.

Responsible for the development and implementation of donor records policies and procedures for all fund raising programs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Financial Development team.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of all fundraising records.
  • Establish, educate and enforce policies relevant to the gift and donor database management.
  • Monitor pledge payment schedules.
  • Create system for pledge invoices, and send per donor request.
  • Control and audit data.
  • Monitor centralization and standardization of gift processing and pledge collection.
  • Manage monthly invoicing to donors following SOPs/guidelines.
  • Coordinate cross functional task team of executive directors and group directors to design and maintain standard reports for the YMCA of Greater Houston that reflect the analytical needs of the organization and the centers.
  • Manage donor records, and related data clean-up plan. Create system for donor record-keeping and related files.
  • Manage acknowledgement letters and tax statements following Financial Development guidelines.
  • Create system for Capital Campaign oversight (files/records; invoicing; acknowledgement). Work with FD staff on stewardship of these donors.
  • Work with Business Office on business processes around use of the database as a fundraising tool; Assist with SOPs.
  • Coordinate mandatory formal RE/NXT training for all users.
  • Coordinate with Business Office on Raiser's Edge/NXT software updates, upgrades and system software issues.
  • Generate queries for statistical and donor database data related to capital, annual and endowment efforts.  Provides such reports to Association volunteer and staff leadership.
  • Provide Leadership staff with accurate donor lists for publications and communications with donors to confirm accuracy of recognition and permission for publication.
  • Support Data Management Specialist in relation to Director’s chart of work around thank-you letters, invoices, end of year tax letters and other mass mailings.
  • Assist Development team with special events, assist with the production of materials for the Development department.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience working with a complex database, with RE/NXT donor database experience preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills- both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relate well to a diverse group of members, donors, staff, and others while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Aptitude for management and effective use of information systems in support of a development program.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and evenings and weekends as required.
