The YMCA of Greater Houston is currently seeking a Center Executive Director to lead the Perry & EA Smith Family YMCA's.

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a dynamic, visionary, mission-driven leader to serve as the Community Executive Director to lead the Bay Area Community, including the Perry Family YMCA and the E.A. Smith YMCA. This individual will lead a diverse staff team that includes a Director of Operations over the E.A. Smith YMCA and Program Directors at the Perry Family YMCA and oversees the total operation of the Bay Area YMCAs, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Additionally, this leader will work with the Bay Area Board to support both YMCAs communities.

This YMCA community currently serves over 3,750 families through membership and programs generating over $3.7mm in earned revenue annually and has the potential to grow to $4.5MMby 2023. To ensure all individual have access to the YMCA and its programs for a stronger community, this YMCA raises $200,000 annually.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinates the development of the Center Advisory Board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the center.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the center.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the center operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  • Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the center.
  • Develops and directs high-quality member engagement strategies and programs which support center and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs center marketing and communication efforts.
  • Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of center budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Center Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00
