Provides leadership and serves as the technical expert and resource for assigned centers and programs. Ensures that programs operate in a safe and quality manner consistent with YMCA guidelines. Provides support to branch fundraising, community collaborations and membership efforts. Serves as a member of the executive leadership team, providing deliberate leadership to take the Y’s outstanding brand and philanthropic foundation to a new level with innovative, fresh ideas on how best to engage the community, volunteers and contributors, tell the Y story, and secure the funds needed to advance the mission. - Increase program quality to grow program retention, impact and revenue.
- Ensure that Centers are following program standards, best practices and utilizing association tools and resources.
- Identify any gaps in resources, challenges, etc. and work with the Sports Director (SD) and Executive Director (ED) to address. If resources and tools are not available, discuss opportunity with Association Youth Sports Leadership Team and determine need and priority.
- If need and priority align, work with team to develop resource.
- Work with ED and SD to determine what leadership staff is needed during peak program times to ensure that consistency of program quality occurs.
- Regularly visit and evaluate on-site and off-site programs. Provide feedback to ED and SD, address issues, determine resources needed, etc.
- Work with SD and ED to identify program opportunities that would increase revenue and/or increase community impact.
- Review schedules (dates/times) prior to budget year with the SD and ED to identify opportunities to align or increase program offering to increase revenue.
- Monitor program registration and give statistic reports each session, month, or as requested by Association.
- Monitor program return on investment (ROI) to assess need and operational effectiveness.

- Use technical expertise to provide support to assigned centers and programs.
- Serve as the point person for all sports questions from Center Exec or Sports Director.
- Work with Sports Directors and Center Execs to provide technical expertise that helps centers manage their budget, forecast and reports.
- Identify safety, revenue and operational effectiveness opportunities that align with the Association plan and communicate with the Center Leadership to implement.
- Assist in sharing content knowledge to their assigned centers and audit programs.
- Provide interim support to centers in Director vacancy.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings at least once per month, rotating Centers.
- Assist with safety and program development opportunities.
- Sport Directors training and development.
- Work with Association Sports team to determine best practices, tools, resources, and trainings that fall within the Association strategic plan and department priorities.
- Provide research on safety issues and give input on standard updates.
- Monitor hiring progress and communicate with their assigned centers to develop plan.
- Assist with their assigned centers leadership staff interviews and give input on hire when needed.
- Perform new Director on-boarding.
- Attend Youth Sports Leadership team meeting and participate or lead teams as identified by the chart of work.
- Respond to all inquiries/complaints within 24 hours.
- Provide training for staff and volunteers on an ongoing basis through staff meetings, special courses and workshops.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Three to five years of sports administration experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum age requirement of 21.
- Completion of following training requirements:
- Prior to first scheduled shift: Online training for Child Abuse Prevention, Work Place Harassment & Bullying, Universal Precautions, Information Security and Awareness.
- Within 30 days of hire: ASHI trainings for CPR-Pro, AED, Oxygen and First Aid.
- Ability to be a trainer level staff within the first 12 months of hire.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
