The YMCA of Greater Houston is currently seeking an experienced Member Experience Director to support the Association.

Creates, implements, manages, and models both systems and practices that support extraordinary member and participant experiences association-wide. Provides quality control to the membership team. Responsible for positively impacting both the recruitment and retention of members. This position plays a leadership role in driving a culture of serving others and fulfilling community needs.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides support to the Executive Director of Association Membership in the implementation and support of Association wide membership strategies and systems that promote engagement and retention of new members and corporate partners.
  • Establish and implement on-boarding process for all new Membership Directors and Membership Lead.
  • Identifies and resolves problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Serves as liaison to Brand Advancement to insure association marketing and public relations campaigns are coordinated. Assist in the planning and execution of special events and services such as health fairs, open houses, media events, and membership drives.
  • Manages Daxko Engage with new initiatives and monitoring current initiatives.
  • Organizes and coordinates association wide membership appreciation days once per quarter.
  • Establishes a high-profile recognition plan that celebrates efforts and ability to engage, connect with, involve and support members/participants.
  • Train all associates on expected engagement, cause-driven tour and enrollment expectations and on policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of member engagement processes to determine required core needs are met; and train processes as needed.
  • Ensures proper implementation of membership strategies and procedures. Reviews and updates membership policies and procedures.
  • Updates the membership SOPs when needed while working closely with the Daxko Operations administrator for the association.
  • Assist in training membership staff on both the process side of the member experience and the engagement side of the member experience.
  • Ensure our membership materials are up to date for the most engagement.
  • Works with the Executive Director of Association Membership to develop strategies for building our overall membership base.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in business or related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
  • Previous experience in developing processes and extracting data preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with diverse populations effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations within the organization and with community organizations.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Center Leader certification preferred.
