Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA program(s) focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility in the East End of Houston: including multiple sites such as Baytown, Pasadena, Third Ward, and East Downtown.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives (see detailed list below).
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program within the communities in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assists with Program Committee meetings
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
Program Specific Duties
Outreach
- Supervise, support and coordinate outreach services and programs in those communities.
- Monitors any programming operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health, safety regulations and program standards.
- Reports on community impact via program participants, families served, and/or funding to specific grants.
- Special Events
- Schedule and organize special events and activities in those communities.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Bilingual language skills in Spanish strongly preferred.
- Must be able to travel between Y locations and communities.
- Minimum age requirement of 21.
- Typical requirements upon hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $43,000.00 - $46,000.00
