Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA youth soccer programs with an emphasis on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The incumbent will position themselves as a cause driven leader in this vital nonprofit organization.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands youth soccer programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Works with the Sports Product Line Specialist to develop a strategic plan for soccer programming in the Greater Houston area.
- Creates curriculum for all areas of soccer programming including Tiny Tots soccer, soccer coaches development, soccer coaches meetings, soccer parents meetings, soccer officials trainings, Sports Directors trainings in soccer, soccer camps and clinics, and other new/innovative programming.
- Evaluates soccer staff Association wide to ensure high quality programming and implementation of soccer curriculums.
- Serves as a liaison with the Sports Product Line Specialist in relationships with community vendors and professional soccer organizations.
- Assists as needed with the hiring of soccer positions throughout the Association.
- Responsible for direct implementation of select soccer camps and clinics throughout the Greater Houston area.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth sports program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Assists in YMCA annual campaign fundraising and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Assists with Program Committee meetings.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Conducts ongoing assessments and evaluations of all sports programming performances and implements program changes and/or enhancements as needed.
- Provides leadership and vision in the improvement and program development to better meet the needs of members and the community.
- Implements and directs department promotional and retention strategies for new and existing sports programs.
- Plans the annual department budget; manages and implements the approved budget and takes appropriate action to correct variances.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

- 5-10 years related experience preferred.
- Minimum age requirements of 21.
- Completion of Y compliance training prior to first schedule shift; CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications as related to sports programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sports programming and equipment.
- Knowledge of sports planning, control and scheduling.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate customer service and public relations skills.
- Must have flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
