The Nature Conservancy has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to manage our Education Program in Hong Kong. The Project Manager is responsible for grant implementation and reporting, school and stakeholder outreach, communications, event management, and assisting with fundraising, The Project Manager works collaboratively with Nature Works, Global Priority teams, Hong Kong and China colleagues. This role will build The Conservancy’s reputation across all channels and touch-points.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The education Project Manager manages and implements education-related projects/initiatives and manages project resources proactively.  Works within the framework of positioning, platform and voice of the organization’s objectives to meet stakeholders’ needs.  Works closely with various constituents such as schools and education institutions, field staff and local communities, relevant government agencies, program consultants and vendors to manage all phases of projects.  Oversees budgets to minimize expenses, and works with fundraisers to provide reports and steward donors.  Uses software systems to track and analyze program results, report findings, and works with Conservation Strategy Director to implement strategic conservation recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE 

  • Organizes, manages and coordinates diverse projects and activities with many variables for Nature Works HK. This includes recruitment, program planning, management and execution of logistics and staff..
  • Manages databases (students, teachers, schools), communications, and outreach efforts.
  • Develops student ambassador and alumni strategy and communications.    
  • Support fundraising by providing program information and frequent communication with Philanthropy team..
  • Manages the marketing communications strategy and execution for Nature Works HK.
  • Liaison with China program education team and facilitate exchange activities.
  • Does not supervise any staff but will coordinate the work of peers on departmental project teams.  May supervise volunteers, interns or temporary staff.
  • Manages the budget and reporting for the program.
  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.  
  • Need to act independently on assigned tasks and projects.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Familiar with HK secondary education system and has extensive network with schools and educators/education professionals
  • Experience managing client/customer relationships.
  • Experience proofreading documents and media outlets.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating projects and events.
  • Proficient in Cantonese and English. Mandarin ability is a plus.

  •  Demonstrated ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences from technical information. ability to work under pressure and with high professionalism.
