The YMCA of South Florida is looking for an experienced professional to join our Homestead YMCA Family Center Team as Senior Program Director. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Program Director is responsible for the administration, management and oversight of various programs including Family, Sports, Camps and Wellness programs.  The Senior Program Director has overall fiscal responsibility, program compliance and outcomes, and ensures the safety & well-being of all the members and participants.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, the Senior Program Director will develop long-range goals, objectives, and priorities for all program departments.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program volunteers and staff as they relate to program activities.
  • Carry out, and delegate as needed, daily program tasks related directly to the positions scope and responsibility.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate department budgets within the approved margins to meet branch goals.
  • Conduct seasonal evaluations of all YMCA programs.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with local public and private schools and other collaborative agencies and professional service organizations.
  • Create, maintain and evaluate a preventive maintenance plan for all community equipment and assist in all planning for equipment purchase and replacement.
  • Oversee risk management issues related to community programs and areas determined by branch leadership.
  • Market all programs on a regular basis.
  • Implement reviews and revise all aspects of program relative to quality, character development and satisfaction from sign-up and enrollment to assessment of program delivery.
  • Act as a campaign assistant for the Association Financial Development campaign including but not limited to: volunteer recruitment, training, and support and lead as an integral member of the management team committed to reaching stated fund raising goals.
  • Serve on the Association Program Cabinets and act as the liaison with appropriate professional groups in the community.
  • Maintain all appropriate records and prepare pertinent statistical analysis for the Program Services Branch and volunteers.
  • Manage delivery of related programs to exceed YMCA standards and program objectives. Include Character Building whenever possible.
  • Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens, and Emergency procedures for all program locations.
  • Assist the Executive staff in the overall achievement of branch goals and directives and is considered to be a team player for any and all association functions.
  • Serves as a member of the Family Center Senior Leadership Team. Provides leadership and support for annual fund raising campaign, and volunteer committees as assigned. Attends and assist in leading center board meetings.
  • Assumes leadership for assigned family center initiatives.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent years of experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in related program management.
  • Strong leadership qualities, ability to coordinate, inspire and motivate others.
  • High level of communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience working in an ethnically diverse community and in meeting the needs of the groups represented.
  • Strong initiative and ability to solve problems.
  • Ability and commitment to work collaboratively.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00
