The Carl and Linda Grubb Family YMCA located in Archdale, NC, is accepting resumes for Membership and Wellness Director.

Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director this position is responsible for all aspects of the Membership and Wellness departments including general office management, recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, supervision and scheduling of front desk staff, fitness floor staff, group exercise instructors, personal training and water aerobics. The position serves as a member of the branch management team performing specific duties that support the overall success of operations.

Areas of Responsibility: 

1. Adheres and complies with the YMCA of High Point Employee Manual, Policy & Procedures Manual, and Code of                Conduct.

2. Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/boards as

            assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.

3. Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety                         procedures are followed.

4. Attends all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other meetings as required by supervisor.

5. Coordinates and represents the Y in Membership, Wellness and community events.

6. Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on the YMCA.

7. Serves as a member of the branch management team.

8. Performs other duties and tasks as requested to facilitate efficient and effective operation of the YMCA.

 

MEMBERSHIP:

9. Develops and implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of 

            existing members. Creates and promotes a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all

            interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.

10. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs front desk staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates

              staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

11. Produces effective and efficient staff schedules within payroll budget parameters.

12. Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.

            Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registrations.

            Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to directors.

13. Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates desk procedures and

            communicates changes to staff.

14. Coordinates and administers corporate discounts on memberships with local businesses.

15. Coordinates Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit, and Prime membership registration, reporting, and all other involved                 paperwork.

16. Solicits potential members by completing written follow-ups with guest passes for all facility tours.

17. Coordinates daily deposits and ensures mail is picked up from the post office and the Association office.

18. Plans and implements a process for timely follow up of discontinued members.

19. In conjunction with the Marketing/IT Director, develops quality promotional materials such as membership                       handbooks, brochures and flyers.

20. Maintains accurate record keeping of all scholarship activities of the branch.

21. Surveys membership, evaluates data and makes recommendations based on results.

22. Coordinates general office management including ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies and

             maintenance and operation of office equipment.

23. Assists with the logistics of branch board meetings, attends meetings and completes minutes. 

WELLNESS:

24. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs fitness floor, group exercise, water aerobics,

             personal training staff. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and

             achieve goals.

25. Produces effective and efficient staff schedules within payroll budget parameters.

26. Ensures all wellness staff certifications are current.

27. Ensures fitness floor is clean and equipment is in proper working order.

28. Ensures all risk management policies and procedures are followed.

29.        Surveys the Wellness Department, evaluates data and makes recommendations based on results.

Skills/Experience: 

1. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

3. At least three years of customer service experience.

4. Skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

5. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.

6. Group Exercise and Personal Training certifications a plus.

7. Must be able to flex schedule to include evenings and weekends.
