The Childcare Director is accountable for the Child Development Center, specific to Pre-K, and will assist with licensing requirements for School-Age programming. This includes on and off site programs as well as special events designed for specific target groups. The Childcare Director will coordinate quality control measures to ensure quality customer service is being delivered. This position must perform within the operational guidelines and budget parameters established by the YMCA. As a member of the professional staff, the Childcare Director is a constructive member of the YMCA whose major priority is to serve the members of the YMCA with the highest quality of programs and facilities available.
- Overseeing the daily operation and management of the Child Development Center.
- Hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and scheduling of all staff in the Child Development Center.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the budget for the Child Development Center.
- Assumes an active role with the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign to achieve the established department goal.
- Being responsible for program growth and development of the Childcare Development Center.
- Being responsible for childcare accounts receivable and USDA Food Program.
- Ensuring the safety, health, and welfare of the children who utilize the Childcare programs.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents and staff.
- Understanding and enforcing North Carolina’s Daycare Requirements and Special Requirements.
- Serves as the Summer Feeding Program Coordinator for the YMCA of Catawba Valley.
- An equivalent of 5-10 years of experience in related field.
- Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of fiscal management and budget process.
- Must have childcare and childcare administration experience along with required credentials for a NC state-licensed childcare center.
- First Aid, CPR, current negative TB test, medical exam, fingerprint check, criminal records check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be responsive to members and program participants.
- Must be attentive to details, well organized, able to meet deadlines, take initiative to solve problems, be proactive in decision-making, and work with little supervision.
- Knowledge of emergency policies and procedures for the facility.
- Understanding of risk management issues and safety requirements for the facility and program areas.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills with volunteers, members, and parents.
Salary: $29,000.00 - $35,000.00
