Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, maintains and evaluates communications and outreach strategies for MLSA and specific projects.
- Build community relationships, cement partnerships, conduct needs assessments, and coordinate training, referrals, strategic communications, and data collection for MLSA and MLSA projects.
- Develops fact sheets, brochures, articles, videos, and other communications tools.
- Conduct regular community education and outreach to build partnerships and systems for referral in order to serve the civil legal needs of Montanans living in poverty.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supervising remote employees.
- An understanding of the civil equal justice legal needs of low-income people, including the unique needs of populations that experience particular barriers to access to justice systems, and of effective approaches and methods for addressing those needs.
- Experience working collaboratively and empathetically with diverse groups of colleagues, firm partners, and clients who have varying cultural backgrounds, perspectives, experience, and expertise.
- Knowledge of substantive legal areas affecting low income people.
The Position: We’re looking for a Communications Manager to be based in MLSA’s Helena office. The pay range we’re offering is $55,000 and up, depending on experience.
- MLSA offers company-paid health, dental, vision and life insurance; an educational loan repayment assistance program; a 403(b) retirement plan; and eligibility for a health reimbursement or health savings account.
- We also offer a generous paid leave package, including annual, personal and sick leave, and a wellness leave program.
- And if you move from another town in Montana to join us, we offer up to $500 for relocation reimbursement (or $1,000 if you move from out of state).

The Location: You’ll be based in Helena, Montana’s capital city, centrally located for a wide variety of outdoor adventures.
