The Human Resources Assistant will provide support to the Human Resource Department with day to day functions such as data entry, seasonal hiring, reporting, research and project development.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist with data entry of new hires/rehires, terminations, and other employee changes as assigned.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition Manager with researching additional recruitment resources.
  • Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Manager, process offer letters, background/drug test, employee onboarding and E-Verify data entry.
  • Assist with completion and file management of benefits, worker compensation and unemployment processes.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and improve accuracy of training database (Kronos) for employees as needed.
  • Support Supervisors in building the Y’s capacity to host training and assist to organize training sessions for HR, Y-USA, on the job learning and growth development.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Diversity and Inclusion to enforce compliance with all regulated and required training programs for staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling employee’s files.
  • Assist with all other duties assigned.      
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years of responsible office administrative experience, preferably in human resources or an equivalent combination of training and experience.    
  • Kronos experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Requires excellent skills in alphabetizing documents and inter-filing materials.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential personnel information.   
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • HRIS Systems experience preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the Human Resources Assistant’s job duties, the qualified employee is required to sit for extended periods at a time and use their hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is also frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
  • Vision abilities required for this position include close vision.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.00
