The Business Manager, Development Team will provide superior administrative support to the Chief Development Officer and Development department with a primary focus on gift entry, donor recognition and fundraising reporting.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Builds strong and positive relationships with donors, volunteers and staff.
- Provides accurate and timely gift and pledge recording, depositing, receipting, and acknowledgement of gifts across multiple campaigns.
- Reconciles data entry to insure proper accounting of donor gifts in both amount and by restriction.
- Prepares and distributes reports on fundraising efforts across the Association according to established reporting schedules and as requested.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of all software systems and databases utilized by the Development department and is able to provide assistance to others within the Association.
- Learns and follows Association best practices regarding fundraising and assists in communicating and training these to other staff.
- Assists with donor research, compiling data, and preparing documents and reports.
- Assists with general administrative support needs of the Chief Development Officer and Development department.
- Manage donor and prospect databases with accuracy and detail orientation.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks simultaneously and follows through on issues in a timely manner.
- Provide branch support and training on fundraising systems and standards.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
A minimum of an associate’s degree with a preference for financial recordkeeping experience preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Has very strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel. Has experience with database systems for gift and donor management.
- Has excellent and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Five (5) years or more experience within a similar working environment preferred.
- Must be highly attentive to detail and follow through.
- Resolves problems, is aware of deadlines and is organized to meet deadlines.
- Can translate complex information into easy to understand terms for varying populations.
- A team player.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment with all levels of management, volunteers, staff and donors is a must.
- Professional behavior and appearance is expected at all times and some evening and weekend work is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
- Must be able to sit for extended duration.
- Must be able to keyboard-data entry for extended duration.
- Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to work at a computer screen for extended periods.
- Must be able to drive to branch offices with supplies for trainings.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00
