The Hanover Area YMCA is seeking a kid-friendly, energetic, positive team leader to strengthen our child care programs.

The Child Care Director will oversee our Early Learning Center, Discovery Before & After School Program and our Child Watch staff.

The Director will be responsible for budgeting, recruiting, training and overall operation of the child care programs.

They will be responsible for the enrollments, curriculum and safety of the program.

Communicate with state reps for DHS, NAEYC and Keystone STARS.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Enhance and maintain all of the childcare programs.
  • Prepare and maintain a balanced budget.
  • Achieve growth in enrollment.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and retain staff.
  • Adhere to all DHS regulations, Keystone STARS and NAEYC standards.
  • Maintain certifications and trainings required to operate the childcare programs.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to market the childcare programs.
  • Establish partnerships with community members.
Educational Background: 
The right candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: ECE (preferred), Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or the Human Service field with one year of experience with children.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of DHS regulations, Keystone STARS and NAEYC.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Clearances required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with diverse groups of people from all social-economic segments of the community.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00
