The YMCA of Hannibal is looking for a leader in the aquatics industry to join our growing team in America's Home Town!
The Aquatics Director is responsible for the planning, development, administration, growth and evaluation of all Aquatic programs, along with monitoring pool maintenance.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establish new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health safety regulations.
- Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pool, spa and sauna. Secures and schedules pool facilities. Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
- Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, first aid and CPR Trainings.
- Maintain proper records, including staff certifications, staff meetings, and daily logs used for policy and procedure review so that information can be reviewed at any time.
- Creates and schedules swim classes, water fitness classes, and coordinates with Head Swim Team Coach to schedule practices and meets.
- Assist with Swim Team coaching as needed.
- Develop, administer, and control the aquatic department budget and take appropriate action to maintain the fiscal integrity of the department.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Complies program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Two years related experience preferred; for example, as an aquatics coordinator or supervisor.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments from the community.
- Previous hiring, supervision and development of staff.
- Experience with program design, development, implementation and retention
- Experience in program and volunteer development.
- Managed balanced department budget
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $30,000.00 - $37,000.00
