he Crossroads YMCA Board of Directors is looking for a compelling leader who can build strong relationships in the communities served. Actively interact and communicate with YMCA members, donors, staff and volunteers. Create a unified culture across all branches building a common goal to serve the families in Lake County; be respected as a leader within the community while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the YMCA.
This position requires strong skills and competencies including, but not limited to: program operations, fundraising, staff development, strategic planning, membership & program analysis, and facility management. The CEO will be visible in the community and active in the development of meaningful community partnerships, positioning the Y as a strong charitable partner.
- Build and Develop the Staff Team: Evaluate the current strengths and weaknesses of all key staff and create a plan for individual staff development, including key changes in organizational structure and key roles as needed. Create a plan to build unity across branches, encourage teamwork, set operational goals tied to a strategic plan, hold staff accountable, and foster individual staff development. Ensure that staff performance and development leads to superior outcomes in programs, member satisfaction and community engagement. Create a culture of excellence within the Y.
- Advocate the YMCA Vision Within the Community: Act as an ambassador for the mission and vision for the YMCA within the Lake County community. Be seen and respected as a leader within the community, proactively creating collaborations while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the YMCA and the YMCA’s heritage. Actively interact and communicate with YMCA members, donors, staff and volunteers. Seek every opportunity to promote the key strategies and strength of the Y.
- Be Visible with the YMCA: Be the heart and soul of the operation, actively interact and communicate with members and staff. Role model the behavior you want reflected in Y staff. Build on a culture of excellence within the Y and act as an ambassador for the mission and vision of the YMCA within the community. Be seen and respected as the leader within the Y, at all branch locations while always upholding the highest standards of the YMCA.
- Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan: Develop a plan of action to address specific areas that are in need of enrichment or development including, but not limited to, setting priorities, enhance the operation, increase marketing and awareness, and the enhancement of programs and services. Work with the board and the appropriate YMCA staff to develop an annual tactical plan for achieving key YMCA goals and objectives.
- Experience in preparing and managing a budget in excess of $8,000,000
- Strong operations experience; experience in managing a multi-branch association
- Fundraising experience with documented results
- Leadership experience preferably with direct leadership of a diverse staff
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Personal Values Consistent with the YMCA mission.
Preferred Attributes:
- A track record for building and leveraging community partnerships and alliances to achieve organizational goals. Experience in working in diverse communities. Strong leadership expertise and multi-branch experience is preferred.
- YMCA Organizational Leader Certification - Note: Candidates not already in possession of this certification have up to three years to obtain this certification via the Y-USA Training and Leadership Development criterion.
Salary: $145,000.00 - $170,000.00
