Thrive at the YMCA of Greenville and join our team as the Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist.

This Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing the full cycle recruitment and onboarding coordination for the YMCA of Greenville association. The Recruitment Specialist will work closely with the Director of HR to design and implement the recruitment strategy for the association and provide recruitment and onboarding support to directors and executives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead recruitment process, designing and implementing recruitment strategy
  • Processing job requisitions using applicant tracking system
  • Manage and update applicant tracking system (iCIMS)
  • Provide guidance and training on hiring process and systems to supervisors
  • Prepare recruitment materials and advertise job openings on association website, outside job boards, college, social media, etc
  • Plan and implement job fairs and in-house recruitment events
  • Establish partnerships with local schools, universities, other organizations to assist with recruitment plan
  • Manage recruitment vendor relationships
  • Design and update job descriptions
  • Screen incoming resumes and job submissions
  • Send job offer emails and answer questions about compensation and benefits
  • Conduct or participate in interviews, and phone screenings
  • Collaborate with directors and executives to identify hiring needs and best recruiting process.
  • Act as a consultant to new hires and assist with onboarding
  • Coordinates background checks and new-hire drug testing
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Assists with facilitation of New Staff Orientation and other trainings
  • Follows up with related clerical aspects of employment
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, seminars, and conferences
  • Assists in maintaining the human resources system records and compiles reports from the database, as needed
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years Human Resources, Recruitment or relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of software systems, applicant tracking system and/or HRIS is essential.
  • Good time management skills and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated practice in the following leadership attributes: Accountability, Managerial Courage, Ownership, Team Player, and Discipline
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word software
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel locally, up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments
  • YMCA experience preferred
  • Ability to speak two or more languages preferred
