The Decatur County Family YMCA is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, self-starter, and a cause driven leader. The Associate Executive Director will help oversee day to day operations as we move into a Capital Campaign.This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative Director to give direct leadership to the Aquatics, 21st Century Program, Rentals, Year Round Feeding Program, Special Events, Youth and Adult leagues and classes. To supervise 3 full time staff, aquatics director, program director and 21st century director.
- To hire, train, supervise, recognize, evaluate, schedule, and monitor staff.
- Develop and monitor budget for Aquatics, 21st Century, Special Events and Youth & adult leagues and classes.
- Oversee grant writing for programs and special events.
- Assist in brochure development, including class write-ups, class costs, and scheduling of classes.
- Oversee 21st Century, aquatics, Special Events, Youth and Adult Leagues departments.
- Develop, plan, promote, and administrate all aquatics, 21st Century, Special Events, Youth & Adult League and Class activities.
- Oversee the YMCA Program Committee.
- Participate in YMCA annual campaign, United Fund, and YMCA special events
- Oversee Corporate Challenge.
- Assist with Golf Committee
- Assist in long range planning process and execution of the objectives developed in that process.
- Responsible to implement child abuse prevention and risk management policies
- Secure residency in Decatur County within six (6) months of hire.
- Accept additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate in order to help the YMCA accomplish its mission.
A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and YMCA Multi-Team/Branch Leader Certification preferred. Three or more years of YMCA experience that includes supervising multiple YMCA departments preferred. Superior relationship building skills, computer proficiency and excellent organizational skills are essential to succeed in this position. Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on program needs (weekdays, weekends and evenings).
