As the Healthy Living Executive you will champion and direct the Healthy Living vision, strategy, policy, and procedure for the Association and represent the Y in the community as a leading provider of healthy living solutions. Ensure Healthy Living innovation, quality, and consistency at all branches through by aligning resources and personnel in the areas of Group Exercise, Personal Training, Fitness and Strength equipment, Corporate Wellness, and ForeverWell and Chronic Disease programming for our Association. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Establish and sustain the strategic direction and develop consistent Healthy Living practices, standards, and programs.
  • Establish standards for hiring, onboarding, certification, and training of Healthy Living Staff to include Group Exercise, Personal Training, Corporate Wellness staff, ForeverWell staff, and Chronic Disease Program Staff, providing the framework for centers to build strong teams.
  • Build and sustain high-quality, innovative programming schedules and classes.
  • Ensure the centers have the highest quality fitness programs and equipment.
  • Build and leverage relationships with community partners, which may include health care providers, universities, and other non-profits and organizations supporting holistic wellness approaches, for innovative program development and implementation.
  • Establish and cascade Healthy Living goals around facility usage, program attendance, member participation, Personal Training, and member retention. Provide leadership to empower Center staff to achieve those goals.
  • Provide direct leadership and supervision to the Chronic Disease Program Coordinator and Equipment Maintenance Technician.
  • Lead the development of innovative programs and initiatives, provide facilitative leadership to the center leadership teams and member experience teams to ensure quality and consistency in Healthy Living programs and equipment.
  • Establish Healthy Living processes, budget, policies, goals, and measurement procedures.
  • Lead the expansion of the Corporate Wellness programs in partnership with the Sales Executive.  
Educational Background: 
A 4-year degree in health science, kinesiology, business administration or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in leading successful and innovative healthy living initiatives is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed and lead others in a matrix environment is required.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, PowerPoint and Outlook are required. 
  • YMCA or Non-profit experience is preferred.
  • YMCA Leadership Certification is preferred. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00
