Under the direction of the Board of Directors and in accordance with the policies of the Greater Green Bay YMCA, the President/CEO will be responsible for the overall administration, development, and growth of the YMCA.
The President/CEO must be aware of the community, its problems, needs and resources and have a broad knowledge of the YMCA locally and nationally. Broad management skills and the ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers are required. The President/CEO must be future-oriented, a sound planner and organizer to establish and direct the achievement of long range corporate operating goals. The ability to relate to the financial resources of the community and to generate financial support for the Association is essential.
The President/CEO must have mastery of the skills and understanding of management and business administration in order to maintain efficient and effective fiscal management of the organization. The human relation’s aspect of this position is critical.
The President/CEO must be able to interpret and clearly communicate the philosophy of the YMCA and its goals and plans to employees, individuals and groups in the community.
The board believes its new CEO should be an experienced leader who has the background and qualities that will permit him or her to achieve excellence in the following key deliverables:
- The CEO must build and expand upon the Y’s rich history and the strong relationships built in the community through further development of partnerships with key leaders and build collaborations to serve the needs of those in the Greater Green Bay region. Meeting and exceeding fundraising goals will be a key indicator of success in this role.
- The CEO must demonstrate financial acumen and continually look for ways to implement key systems that will improve performance and the overall operating performance of the Y. Multi-site experience will be key including camp experience.
- The CEO will need a strong ability to lead people including the development of a strong board and managing and motivating staff. The CEO must be able to build and create a team structure that suits the future growth of the organization.
- The CEO is expected to be highly visible in the community, active in the development of meaningful community partnerships, positioning the Y as a strong charitable partner. They will be expected to help build strong communities and the successful candidate will embody the YMCA’s mission which is to Build Strong Kids, Families and Communities.
- The CEO must be able to establish and execute a strategic plan. A highly energetic, passionate leader with the desire to impact the community and ability to communicate and engage stakeholders will be key factors for success.
- Prior experience (five years minimum) in a senior management role or comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of employees.
- Prepare and manage a budget in excess of $14 million.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
Preferred Candidate Criteria:
- YMCA Organizational Leader Certification (Note: Candidates not already in possession of this certification have up to three years to obtain via YMCA of the USA).
- Develop and leverage community partnerships and alliances to achieve organizational goals.
- Strategic planning and fundraising experience including annual campaigns, operating revenue growth, and capital planning.
- Proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management.
- Implement effective methods to develop employees, enhance performance and recognize performance of staff.
Salary: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00
