This leader will be responsible for the organization, delivery and quality of the Hood County and Joshua Community YMCA membership and wellness departments. This leader will drive the member experience by leading the staff in programs yielding increased membership and retention.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth seeks an experienced, energetic, and innovative individual to provide direction and leadership to our Membership and Wellness departments. The Senior Director of Member Engagement and Healthy Living will lead the membership and wellness staff teams in driving the member experience that will move members from casual to connected to committed, therefor increasing membership and retention. They will ensure that membership administration operates effectively and efficiently through models of continuous improvement.

The Senior Director of Member Engagement and Healthy Living is responsible for ensuring an environment that is safe, nurturing, and engaging for members. This dynamic individual will have demonstrated experience in community development with specific intent and focus on holistic health. Program development and innovation in healthy living both internally and externally will be critical to meet the needs of the region. Knowledge of YMCA signature programs such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Y Weight Loss Program and Diabetes Prevention Program will be preferred in this position.

Leading, training, coaching, and development of staff and member relations will be critical as we seek to focus on the needs of the community. Some essential functions include member & community engagement, youth, teen, & adult fitness program development, member relationships, staff development, and strategic planning.

Emphasis on evaluation of services for operational effectiveness including budgetary goals and impact will be a necessary strength of the candidate. This position will seek to develop a membership and wellness structure that best fits theever-growing and changing Hood County and Joshuacommunities. This leader will help in providing the appropriate voice and messaging to staff teams as we seek to fulfill the mission of the YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide leadership to the membership and wellness departments at both the Hood Countyand Joshua Community YMCAs to meet monthly sales and retention goals.
  • Develop and monitor budgets to meet fiscal objectives with a department operating budget totaling over $2+ million annually meeting all financial goals.
  • Lead and developtwo full-time Wellness Coordinators, one full-time Membership Coordinator and other lead staff to meet their individual goals.
  • Identify, hire, train and develop front line membership and wellness staff focused on helpingmembers accomplish their wellness goals; staff positions include front desk staff, wellness coaches, personal trainers and group exercise instructors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase membership volume and retention of members and program participants.
  • Assist with the YMCA Annual Campaign by serving as staff liaison, recruiting volunteers and raising funds to meet division goal.
  • Collaborate with all branch staff to ensure a culture focused on membership, service excellence and an exceptional experience for all members.
  • Identify, develop and implement new and exciting wellness-focused programs for members.
  • Lead, organize, implement and collaborate with branch staff to provide member-focused family events and membership appreciation events monthly.
  • Plan the marketing and distribution of materials as well as lead the efforts for membership campaign planning and implementation to meet campaign goals.
  • Manage and maintenance of social media and website.
  • Support the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth association in membership and wellness initiatives.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three years of successful staff supervision preferred.
  • Knowledge of Daxko Operations is a plus.
  • YMCA Team Leader Certification preferred. ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA of NASM certifications are a plus.
  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail and high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
  • This leader will need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $44,000.00 - $47,000.00
