The Granite YMCA – Allard Center is currently seeking a full-time Gymnastics Head Coach. The Gymnastics Head Coach is primarily responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, budgeting and evaluating the Allard Center Gymnastics Team in accordance with the mission, purposes and policies of the association, under the supervision of the Gymnastics Director.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide excellent leadership, sportsmanship and communication to the youth and families of the Gymnastics Team and staff, Gymnastics Instructional and Gymnastics Camp programs and other members.
  • Engage in active listening with members in order to build relationships, understand individual’s goals and interests, and take the initiative to assist in the achievement of those goals.
  • Responsible for recruiting, scheduling and supervising all competitive coaching personnel, volunteers and support staff.
  • Coordinate recertification options for all necessary courses to maintain current status for coaches.
  • Responsible for annual development, promotion, enrollment and attendance records for each season of the Gymnastics team program.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of related program equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain concise records essential for control, evaluation, and reporting for Gymnastics Director, Committees and Boards.
  • Responsible for management of expenses, including ordering equipment purchases for team needs, reporting meet mileage, submitting PO’s, invoices, check requests and any required budget information
  • Assist Gymnastics Director with the development, and management of the team budget.
  • Oversee the completion and update of team schedules.
  • Provide annual personnel reviews of coaching staff and recommend appropriate compensation adjustments, promotions or terminations as necessary.
  • Attend the required Competitive League meetings for the participating leagues.
  • Responsible for direct program hours including teaching
  • Establish a working relationship with community agencies, businesses, schools and other resources and prospective sponsors.
  • Participate in Y staff meetings as a member of the branch program management team and other meetings as required.
  • Remain current in required trainings for the position.
  • Assist in Annual Campaign fundraising.
  • Responsible for communication within the department to ensure all staff understand any changes to policy and programs.
  • Support specified Quality Circles and Association Committees, as needed and/or directed.
  • In charge of registration, coordination and coaching of all home and away team meets.
  • Schedule, organize and conduct an annual team parent’s meeting
  • Schedule, plan and oversee Coaching staff meetings.
  • Support Association events.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be able to delegate, supervise, and direct program staff to accomplish the association’s short and long-term goals.
  • Additional responsibilities include recruiting, providing orientation, training and supervising all staff, both paid and volunteer, related to his/her area of responsibility.
  • Will support the Gymnastics department and Gymnastics Camp with staff supervision, administration and class instruction as needed.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $37,500.00 - $42,000.00
