Aquatic Director of lessons and Lifeguarding

The Aquatics Director provides leadership and management for the Aquatics Department operations, staff, budget, swim lessons, Lifeguards as well as program and membership experience.  This is a full-time positions with benefits 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate all aquatic staff
  • Conduct in-service training
  • Help develop, implement, track and control department budget
  • Review program schedules, capacity stafffing and revenues to meet community needs and Y mission
  • Serve as a role model
  • responsible for recertification before expiration
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree required or working on it
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory/management position
  • YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification or equivalent
  • Current swim lesson Trainer or acquire within 90 days of hire
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Current Lifeguard Trainer or acquire within 90 days of hire
