Direct and coach our team of over 200 swimmers.  Nurture swimmers to grow as individuals, achieve their goals as swimmers and expand their overall potential.  Manage all aspects of the swim team as well as supervise two full-time associate directors.  This motivated individual will share the YMCA commitment to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage, design and implement season planning/communication for practice groups
  • Provide supervision, direction and support to all age groups
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, developing and directing coaching staff and volunteers as needed.  
  • Nurture coaching staff development by leading by example, effective communication and timely performance evaluations
  • Works with Swim Team Parents Association to promote and support team by distributing program information in a timely manner
  • Responsible for accurately entering swim meet information and effectively communicating to parents in a professional manner
  • Assists in developing/monitoring program budget to meet fiscal objectives
  • Appropriately use social media to promote FOBY and develop team newsletter
Educational Background: 
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Competitive swimming experience and ASCA certification (Level 3 or higher) preferred
  • Must have a minimum 6-10 years coaching experience with various ages
  • Must be in good standing with USA Swimming
  • A proven positive role model with excellent engagement skills 
  • ASCA (Level 3 or higher)
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $70,000.00
