Oversee the development and operations of a School’s Out site and summer camp.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The School’s Out Site Director at the MetroWest YMCA oversees the development and operations a School’s Out site and Camp OCP as well as supports efforts to strengthen entire School’s Out program.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages, directs and coordinates the School’s Out site and Camp OCP. Ensures high-quality program, designs practices, processes, and procedures for a high-quality program.
  • Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with children, families, staff, and schools. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
  • Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is linked to the Curriculum Frameworks and supports school day learning.
  • Leads efforts to support Healthy Eating and Physical Activity standards relating to physical activity for all School’s Out sites and Education camps.
  • Assures compliance with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Child and Adult Care Food (CACFP) Program regulations. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Provides staff leadership for annual fundraising campaign and committees as assigned.
  • Maintains proper records/department files.
  • Facilitates Family Advisory Council meetings and organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred, but not requiredand committed to ongoing professional development.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two years of experience with elementary school age children in a licensed OST program (including summer camp). Experience and training relating to working with high-needs children preferred.
  • Compliance with EEC licensing regulations.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $39,000.00 - $43,000.00
