Looking for qualified welcoming, member service staff to engage with members in our newly renovated YMCA!

The Member Service Welcome Representative at the MetroWest YMCA, reports directly to the Director of Membership Services, is involved primarily in day-to-day operations of membership, which includes member service staff support and the overall member sales/service systems. Assists the Director of Membership Services in coordinating and implementing the Association membership sales and retention strategies to insure membership growth and minimize membership terminations. This employee will model the behavioral values established by the association and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the Y. Fluctuating schedule Monday through Sunday, 40 hours per week.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responds to the individual needs of the other person.
  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
  • Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y.
  • Serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Qualified candidates should have 5 or more years of customer service experience.
  • Qualified candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred candidate will be self-motivated and an enthusiastic team member.
  • He/She must have basic computer and math skills.
  • He/She must be able to relate, interpret and communicate to members and staff.
  • He/She must have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • He/She must carry out the mission and goals of the MetroWest YMCA.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus but not required.
  • Applicants must have CPR/AED and First Aid or be willing to complete the trainings upon hire.
