This position supports the workof the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Support the maintenance needs ofthe Northwest and DowntownYMCAs in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning if applicable, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
- Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
- Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
- May set up and take down furniture and other needed items for events.
- Keeps storage areas neat and orderly and reports supply orders as directed.
- Responsible for outdoor landscaping and sprinkler system repairs.
- Assists in control of sanitation for swimming pool and spa including vacuuming and filter care if applicable.
- Assists in checking YMCA for safety hazards and reports any deficiency.
- Performs air conditioning filter changes.
- Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- ASHI Basic Life Support (ASHI CPR Pro).
- 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $12.00 - $15.00
