Responsible for the general management of the local office, including programs and fund raising in a seven county service area.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Core Job Responsibilities: Oversee office operation. Ensure office coverage during established office hours. Ensure compliance with Association policies and procedures, fiscal controls and standards, and personnel policies and legal requirements. Serve as the local spokesperson on Alzheimer issues and chapter services; promote general awareness and media coverage on Alzheimer issues through outreach efforts that include speaking before community groups and professional audiences. Serve as community liaison by participating in community events and collaborating with other organizations to achieve established goals. Supervise paid staff and student interns. Coordinate with Director of Programs and Services in establishing goals for delivering programs and services; oversee and implement programs and services in accordance with established goals.

Core services include: Helpline; care consultation; caregiver support groups; early stage support group; education programs and Medic Alert + Safe Return. Additional services include Memories in the Making, e-services, Trial Match and others, as added. Ensure accurate service statistics are maintained and monthly service reports are submitted. Also, submit weekly report of activities to supervisor. Coordinate with Special Event and Marketing Director in establishing fund raising goals; oversee and implement fund raising efforts, especially the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's and RivALZ. Identify, recruit, train and manage volunteers who will assist the organization in increasing concern and awareness, advocacy, delivering services and growing revenue.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and minimum of 3 years full-time work experience; supervisory experience, work experience in the aging field, a plus
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and oral
  •  Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with other staff, volunteers and clients
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; effective self-starter
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Computer skills in use of Microsoft Office; additional experience with Google applications would be helpful

Other:

  • Must hold a valid driver's license, have a reliable vehicle available daily for work purposes and show current automobile insurance.
  • Must be willing to work on evenings and weekends as occasionally needed.
  • Must be willing to travel in and out of state for trainings or meetings as occasionally needed.
  • Must accept other duties, as assigned.
  • Must pass criminal background check.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to drive a car to attend meetings within chapter territory and by air to attend other meetings as assigned
  • Ability to operate audiovisual equipment, software, dolly, photocopier and telephone • Ability to move boxes and supplies up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to set up and tear down tables, chairs, stage, etc. as needed for special events
