The Y is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill an immediate opening as a Wellness Director for the Jorgensen Family YMCA, located in SW Fort Wayne, IN. The ideal candidate has a passion for connecting people to their healthy living goals. A successful director will be an organized, self-starter, effective listener, strong team builder and have a passion for serving others.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop, implement, and promote dynamic new programs and expand existing programs to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Compile program statistics and participant feedback in order to evaluate the effectiveness of programs offered.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of part-time Wellness Staff.
- Make connections with members and guests and assist with inquiries.
- Develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Assist in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Experience in, or ability to, relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
