The Child Care Services Branch of the YMCA, has an immediate opening for a Program Director. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director supervises assigned preschool programs, sites and staff including the day-to-day operations of the programs, development of quality programming/curriculum, positive communications with parents and school administration, regular site visits and staff professional development. The ideal candidate has a passion for impacting the lives of the youth in the community. A successful director will be a detail-oriented, effective listener, strong team builder and have a passion for serving others.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop, implement, and promote dynamic quality new preschool programs and expand current programs to support engagement, promote program growth and retention in accordance with strategic and operating plans for assigned locations.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of part-time before/after school preschool site employees and volunteers.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with youth participants, parents, schools and community organizations. Plan special events and committee participation as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with state/local regulations and YMCA program standards as they relate to preschool. Assure the upkeep of assigned program sites and equipment.
- Develop and monitor department budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events where applicable.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred. A combination of equivalent work experience, education and training may be considered
Skills/Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
- Two to three years of previous experience with preschool aged children and developmental stages is preferred.
- Previous experience building a team, running programs, and supervising others is preferred.
- Experience in, or ability to, expertly relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $33,000-$38,000
