The Jackson R Lehman YMCA has an immediate opening for a Membership Director in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have experience providing excellent customer service and building community relationships including diverse populations. A successful director will be a detail-oriented, self-starter, effective listener, strong team builder and servant leader.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Cultivate and direct quality relationship-based member engagement strategies.
- Hire, train and supervise staff and volunteers in the membership department.
- Make connections with members and guests and assist with membership inquiries.
- Develop programs and expand offerings to support membership growth and retention in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations.
- Develop and monitor department budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events where applicable.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Two to three years of related experience; preferably within the YMCA.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Experience in, or ability to, relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
