The Jorgensen YMCA has an immediate opening for a Maintenance & Facilities Director.  Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Maintenance & Facilities Director is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the branch and mechanical systems. This position also oversees the overall condition of the facilities and performs hands-on tasks on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, detailed, organized, and a problem solver.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure facility is clean and well maintained including aquatics, equipment, and grounds.
  • Provide overall coordination of facility and property maintenance.
  • Hire and supervise all maintenance and housekeeping staff. 
  • Perform selected improvements, repairs, and maintenance to buildings and equipment that are within areas of expertise. Ensure the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
  • Hire and oversee outside contractors for extensive repairs or projects as needed.
  • Advise branch on maintenance, property, and custodial issues.
  • Maintain records and necessary supplies for the overall condition and operation of the branch.
  • Develop and monitor assigned budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Ensure that assigned vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Association.
Educational Background: 
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • The incumbent must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • At least 3 –5 years of facility maintenance experience, plant management, or related field.  Licensing in a specialty like HVAC, plumbing, or electrical is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas preferred.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.
  • The ability to respond to safety and emergency situations quickly is critical.
Compensation/Benefits:
