The Central Branch YMCA has an immediate opening for a Membership Director in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. Reporting to the Executive Director, the ideal candidate will have noticeable experience providing excellent customer service and building community relationships including diverse populations. A successful director will be a detail-oriented, effective listener, strong team builder and servant leader.
- Cultivate and direct quality relationship-based member engagement strategies.
- Supervise a staff of 25; oversee the hiring and training of new membership staff.
- Make connections with members and guests and assist with membership inquiries.
- Establish new activities and expand offerings to support membership growth and retention in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations.
- Develop and monitor department budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events where applicable.
- Demonstrate effective listening and compassion toward people in all interactions with the purpose of delivering the mission of the YMCA.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Two to three years of related experience; preferably within the YMCA.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Experience in, or ability to, expertly relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences
