The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is looking for candidates with these traits to fill the position of Aquatics Director at the Central Branch YMCA. The ideal candidate will have a resume with noticeable experience in aquatic program development as well as facility and risk management strategies.

- Develop, implement, and promote dynamic and innovative aquatics programs for youth and adults, including special populations.
- Analyze and modify rules, procedures, and schedules for assigned programs and facilities including pool schedules for best practices, safety and member satisfaction.
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, and supervision of staff as well as including volunteers to develop a winning aquatics program.
- Manage the financial activities of assigned departments.
- Oversee management of pool chemicals and aquatic facility maintenance.
- Provide lifeguard and CPR training as needed for branch and association staff.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; LGI certification preferred.
- 2 or more years of related experience including aquatics program development and implementation.
- Proven experience in effective staff management, leading volunteers, and building authentic relationships with members.
- Ability to relate empathetically to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
