The Candidate will be responsible for developing the departmental budget and implementation of the plan. Additional responsibilities include leading, training, maintaining, developing, and evaluating all aquatic activity including but not limited to certifications, programs, staff and volunteers. The Aquatics Director is part of the senior leadership team at the Fall River YMCA and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Aquatics Director is directly responsible for the operation of the pool, and directly supervises an Aquatics Coordinator, approximately 20 part-time staff and all aquatic programming.  S/he must also have the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, with strong human relations skills and the ability to work effectively with a large and diverse constituency of members, staff, volunteers and peers. Bi-lingual preferred.

Educational Background: 
Minimum requirement of an Associate’s Degree in Health/Human Services or related field, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, along with. 2-3 years supervision experience in aquatics.
Skills/Experience: 

Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED/First Aid required. LGI, and/or Emergency Oxygen required, YMCA certifications preferred.

Compensation/Benefits: 
  • Salary: $33,000.00 - $38,000.00
  • Great benefits. 10% Pension, Medical/Dental, Short/Long term disability, paid time off.
